Patrick Daniel Gorczowski, a cherished son, brother, friend, and innovator, passed away tragically on May 20, 2025, at the young age of 23. Born on March 12, 2002, in Hackensack, New Jersey, Patrick’s vibrant presence and boundless potential left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His sudden departure has left a void that words can scarcely fill, but his life, full of warmth, creativity, and compassion, continues to inspire.
Patrick was a proud graduate of Elmwood Park High School, where he served as captain of the Crusaders track team. On and off the track, he embodied resilience, leadership, and a steadfast dedication to personal growth. His commitment to excellence, both in athletics and academics, earned the admiration of his coaches, teammates, and peers. But beyond his accomplishments, Patrick was known for his humility and team spirit—always encouraging others and sharing in their successes.
Driven by a deep curiosity and love for technology, Patrick pursued a degree in Computer Science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). There, he found his true calling in user experience design, blending technical expertise with empathy and creativity. Among his many projects, Patrick developed AI-powered fitness tracking applications—a fusion of his passion for health and technology. His ability to envision and build tools that enhanced people’s lives spoke volumes about his values and his bright future in the tech industry.
What truly made Patrick exceptional was not just his talent, but his unmistakable kindness and infectious spirit. Friends recall his sharp wit and contagious laugh, the way he could brighten any room with a clever joke or sincere compliment. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and understood. Whether he was tutoring a classmate, helping his sister with a school project, or chatting with friends during a late-night coding session, Patrick always gave his time and energy without hesitation.
Outside of school and technology, Patrick was a lover of the outdoors. He often spent weekends running local trails, hiking in nearby parks, and camping under the stars. Nature was his refuge, a place where he could reflect, recharge, and marvel at the beauty of the world—a world he himself made better by simply being in it.
Patrick leaves behind a loving family who adored him. He is survived by his devoted parents, Aleksander and Jadwiga Gorczowski, and his treasured sister, Isabella, who looked up to him with admiration. He is also survived by his grandmother Anna, grandparents Jan and Jozefa, uncle Eugeniusz and aunt Elzbieta Gorczowski, aunt Ewa and uncle Zenon Michalik, and godfather Dariusz and his wife Ewa Gorczowski. Their lives were deeply enriched by Patrick’s presence. He now joins his grandfather Francziszek and grandmother Maria Szpernoga in eternal peace.
